CHARLOTTE — JPMorgan Chase & Co. has updated its expansion plans across the Carolinas, which include adding 200 jobs and more office space in Charlotte.
The New York banking giant said on Tuesday it plans to exceed more than 100 branches across the Carolinas by 2025. That’s well above its original plans announced in 2018 to open 40 branches in the two states by 2022, with half of those being in Charlotte. Chase has surpassed that goal, with about 48 branches in the Carolinas.
The bank said it was motivated to grow its branch presence after experiencing customer growth and demand in cities such as Charlotte, Raleigh, Charleston and Greenville, South Carolina. As part of its new expansion commitment, Chase plans to grow its presence in new markets including Greensboro, Columbia and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
