Johnson C. Smith dorm cleared out due to report of bats

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A popular dorm at Johnson C. Smith University is empty Monday night because students said they saw bats.

The school told Eyewitness News that students moved out of Myers Hall because of the problem, but the North Carolina Health Department checked it out and did not find any evidence.

The roof was fixed as a preventative measure.

Students will be allowed back on Wednesday.
