CHARLOTTE — Hours after American Airlines said their technical issues were resolved, passengers at Charlotte Douglas International Airport were still dealing with delays.
On what can already be a stressful time for travel, American Airlines passengers faced extra frustration on Christmas Eve.
Early Monday morning, the airline said a vendor technological issue kept flights on the ground.

Even after they were able to start flying again around 9 a.m., many passengers remained well behind schedule.
One of those passengers passing through CLT was Caleb Willis. He said his flight was delayed and changed multiple times.
“Basically, I guess there are a million people trying to buy a flight at the same time,” Willis told Channel 9′s Eli Brand.
A situation so frustrating, Willis said he even contemplated not going to Florida to celebrate Christmas with family.
“I don’t even know if we’re going to make it there by Christmas. It’s actually depressing. It’s disappointing. I would have probably flown Frontier before I had flown them if I knew this was going to happen,” Willis said.
Other passengers faced similar problems.
Around 10 a.m., the flight boards displayed dozens of delays ranging from just a few minutes all the way up to a few hours.

Luanne and Jim Anderson said they read about the issues online before their flight and got to the airport early: “He got some alert that American Airlines had some sort of a technical difficulty. So yeah, we got concerned about that.”
Ultimately, the Andersons said they had no delay to deal with, but they were one of the lucky ones.
“We were supposed to be on a flight at 10 o’ clock. Now it’s 2:30,” Willis said.
