CHARLOTTE — Tiara Johnson is the first resident in the Small Beginnings community in north Charlotte.
“When there is hope, there is blessing,” Johnson told Channel 9 after moving into the affordable home.
The housing nonprofit, Home Again Foundation, cut the ribbon Tuesday after Johnson moved in.
“It just feels good,” Johnson said. “I’m warm. I’m safe.”

Vicki Craighead-Davis, with the Home Again Foundation, is helping Johnson with her new cottage and a future career and has already noticed a difference.
“She is happy,” Craighead-Davis said. “She has hope. She sees a future for her and her child.”
