IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — In an effort to be protective in their schools, the Iredell Co. Sheriff’s Office is introducing a “CyberSwat” program.

In collaboration with Safesurfin.org, this cyber safety program will be put in three high schools the sheriff’s office covers: Lake Norman High, West Iredell High and North Iredell.

Iredell Sheriff’s Office is the first law enforcement agency in the state to implement CyberSwat.

This will be a student-led program, overseen by the School Resource Officer. Each group will act like a club, where students teach the program to other students.

Some of the courses taught by this program are cyberbullying, online predators, human trafficking and other online risks teenagers face.
