Iredell Co. official faces charges after deputies find meth in home

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — An elected official in Iredell County is facing meth charges, our news partners at the Mooresville Tribune reported.

Brian Harwell was arrested Thursday after sheriff's deputies say they found meth in Harwell's home.

They went to the home looking for another man.

Harwell is a supervisor to the county's soil and water conservation district. He was first elected in 2006 and was in his third term.

There is no information at this time regarding his current status with the county.
