UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire that killed one person early Friday morning in Union County.
Firefighters were called around 6 a.m. to the fire on Hasty Road, near the Anson County line after neighbors spotted the flames.
When fire crews arrived, they found a single-story home engulfed in flames.
Officials said one person died in the fire but the medical examiner is working to identify that victim. No other details have been released.
The fire marshal, ATF, and the sheriff's office are investigating.
