ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A popular Western North Carolina grocery store said it lost tens of millions of dollars because of Hurricane Helene.
Ingles released its fourth quarter results.
Company officials said the grocer suffered a loss of $30.4 million in inventory damaged or destroyed by Helene.
There was another $4.5 million in property and equipment damaged.
Three stores remain closed because of Helene, which includes the Morganton location on Carbon City Road.
