CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The parents of a teenager who was shot to death in the parking lot of a Harris Teeter pleaded with the public on Wednesday for any information that would lead to the arrest of their son’s killer.
Nathaniel Isenhour’s father, Sonny Isenhour -- who is a Cabarrus County deputy -- and mother, Sheri Walker, spoke during a morning news conference at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

“I’m begging somebody to say something,” Sonny Isenhour said during the desperate plea. “He was only 19 years old. Not knowing is absolute torture."
“This is about justice. The person that killed Nate will more than likely hurt other people one way or the other, and next time it could be you or somebody you care about," he said. "If it can happen to us it can happen to anybody.”
“My heart is breaking. Never did I think I would be on this end of things,” said Sheri Walker. “While you may elude the police, you will not escape God.”
Just before 10 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2019, 19-year-old Nate Isenhour, a college student and beloved student-athlete, was shot in the parking lot of the Harris Teeter on University City Boulevard. He died at the hospital the next morning.
Nate Isenhour’s death was Charlotte’s 100th homicide of the year.
Detectives have not been able to crack the case, and on Wednesday released surveillance video of the vehicle they believe may have been involved in the crime. The video shows a sedan with apparent damage to the right front quarter panel as well as a right rear tail light that appears to be out.
A $5,000 reward has been issued for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or 911
