Coroner identifies woman killed after being hit by 2 SUVs on I-77 in York County

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a woman walking along Interstate 77 in York County died after being hit by two SUVs last Thursday night.

According to investigators, the collision happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-77, about three miles north of Fort Mill.

Troopers said a Jeep SUV heading southbound hit the woman, who was walking in the far right lane of the interstate. A second SUV, a Chevy, then also hit the woman. She died at the scene, investigators said.

On Monday the coroner identified the victim as 21-year-old Larkyn Robinson, or Marshville. Autopsy and toxicology results are still pending.

Both drivers were not hurt, troopers said.

The southbound lanes of I-77 at the Welcome Center were shut down for hours, reopening before 2 a.m.
