Troopers said a Jeep SUV heading southbound hit the woman, who was walking in the far right lane of the interstate. A second SUV, a Chevy, then also hit the woman. She died at the scene, investigators said.
On Monday the coroner identified the victim as 21-year-old Larkyn Robinson, or Marshville. Autopsy and toxicology results are still pending.
Both drivers were not hurt, troopers said.
The southbound lanes of I-77 at the Welcome Center were shut down for hours, reopening before 2 a.m.
