HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Traffic headaches are easing up thanks to the Interstate 77 Express Lanes in Huntersville and Mooresville.
The first section of the toll lanes opened to drivers between Hambright Road in Huntersville to Exit 36 in Mooresville on June 1.
I-77 Mobility Partners gave Channel 9 some numbers from the first 30 days and they show the express lanes making a difference in the area.

For example, average speeds during morning rush hour increased by 18 percent and 37 percent in the afternoon.
