UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his wife in Union County, officials said.
Deputies said they were dispatched to a home on Paddle Wheel Lane for a well-being check shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Officials said they had received multiple reports that a woman was dead inside of the home.
Police said several departments went to the home and found 48-year-old Ashley Drinnon dead inside.
Police said during the initial investigation, the husband of the victim, 53-year-old Timothy Drinnon, was arrested and taken to Union County Jail.
He has since been charged with first-degree murder.
Police said they are continuing to investigate Drinnon’s potential motive.
