HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Many of the ZIP codes deemed by Opendoor as the hottest in Charlotte’s housing market share a common thread. They offer a small-town feel while still being accessible to center city within a relatively short commute, says Chelsea Goyer, Opendoor’s national head of brokerage.

Landing at No. 1 is 28078 in Huntersville, which is about 15 miles north of uptown Charlotte and features a range of family-friendly amenities and activities. At No. 3, there’s 28173 in Union County, which covers the smaller communities of Waxhaw and Marvin, also known as being family-friendly places more than 20 miles south of Charlotte.
Opendoor identified the top local ZIP codes based on total number of homes to go under contract within 90 days of listing in 2022. It did so by analyzing local MLS data.
