Man charged with murder after bodies found in burned car, deputies say

MORGANTON, N.C. — Burke County charged Brian Robinson Thursday with murder after authorities found two men dead inside a burned car near Morganton.

Authorities identified one of the victims as Alexander Austin

Deputies were called Sunday morning to Canoe Creek Way in Morganton about a burned vehicle. They found two bodies inside the Cadillac DeVille.

The burned car belonged to Austin, but was registered to Spencer “Jermain” Murray. Authorities are still searching for Murray.

The SBI is assisting the Sheriff's Office in the investigation.

Investigators are attempting to find anyone who might have any information on the whereabouts of Murray.
