CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Just how much does a household in Charlotte need to earn in order to afford renting an apartment in the Queen City without being cost-burdened?
According to SmartAsset, a local household should make an annual income of at least $65,400 to cover the average monthly rent of $1,526 for a two-bedroom unit. Out of the 25 largest U.S. cities, Charlotte ranked at No. 11 for having the lowest income needed for residents to comfortably pay rent.
