LAKE WYLIE — While Lake Wylie’s home market isn’t as large as its counterpart in the northern part of the Charlotte region, Lake Norman, it still boasts a high level of activity as well as affordability.
When looking at the entire Lake Wylie home market, which straddles both sides of the Carolinas’ state line, its value of homes listed for sale tops $455 million, ranking it fifth-largest of the 100-plus Multiple Listing Services that Alabama-based Lake Homes Realty combed through for the fall 2019 edition of its quarterly Lake Real Estate Market Report.
And its number of homes on the market, at 1,082, was enough to rank it third for most residences available.
But purchasing a lake home at Lake Wylie will save buyers more than $200,000, on average, compared to a similar purchase at Lake Norman, where the average list price is $632,687. At Lake Wylie, the average price of a home listed for sale at Lake Wylie is about the same amount in both states — $415,982 in North Carolina and $427,009 in South Carolina.
