CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Forbes says UNC-Chapel Hill is among the top 10 best public colleges in the nation.

The university placed ninth on the magazine’s list. Forbes based its list on criteria that offer direct benefits the schools provide their graduates, including alumni salaries, debt after graduations and signs of academic and career success, along with the “student experience.”
“The nation’s first public university, chartered in 1789, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is known for its excellent academics, research, public service and spirited fans,” the magazine said.
