How does NC, SC compare to the country’s social distancing score?

“Social distancing” has become a popular phrase, but have you wondered how is my state or even my county doing with the actual social distancing part.

Unacast is an analytics firm that grades how each state and each county within that state is social distancing. According to the CDC, social distancing is one of the best ways to prevent and limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The United States, as a whole, received a "D" grade, according to Unacast.

South Carolina and North Carolina both received a “D-” grade for its social distancing score.

Only the District of Columbia received a grade higher than a B, which they earned an “A-" grade. Five states -- Nevada, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Hawaii -- got “B-” grades.
