Is Charlotte’s housing market — long marked by rising home prices and scarce inventory — considered a top place to buy a home?
Well, according to a new analysis that takes into account nearly two dozen indicators of a housing market’s attractiveness and economic strength, the Queen City ranks fairly high in that measure. Personal finance website WalletHub puts Charlotte at No. 28 on its overall ranking of 300 U.S. cities in the report — and No. 7 out of the 63 largest cities, or those with more than 300,000 residents.
Charlotte beat out similarly sized markets like Austin, Texas (No. 36); Columbus (No. 77); Kansas City (No. 142); Cincinnati (No. 218); and Baltimore (No. 273). But it fell short when compared to cities like Denver (No. 13) and Nashville, Tennessee (No. 25) as well as a couple in North Carolina. Atlanta landed at No. 68.
