CHARLOTTE, N.C. — People with high net worths in the Charlotte area and who want to own million-dollar homes here apparently have more options than their counterparts in many similar-sized cities.
Online loan provider LendingTree Inc., which is headquartered here, created a ranking based on its review of the number of million-dollar homes in each of the nation’s 50 largest metros. Among those 50 metros, the Queen City lands at No. 18.
Of the Charlotte metro’s 631,167 units, a total of 13,906 homes, or about 2.2%, fall into the million-dollar category. The median value of owner-occupied housing units in the market is $215,500.
