How to beat the heat this July 4th

CHARLOTTE — With the July 4th holiday in full swing, so are parades in the area.

However, the feel-like temperature is at 100 degrees and making some outings uncomfortable today.

Temperatures are well above average for this time of the year and some residents are finding fun ways to get over the heat.

“You know popsicles. It’s the south so you just kind of embrace it,” parade goer Caroline Cecil said.
