House fire kills 3, injures 3 others in the Outer Banks

KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. — Three people have died and three others have been hurt following a house fire in the Outer Banks early Friday morning, according to reports from WVEC.

Fire crews said they responded to a fully engulfed home on North Virginia Dare Trail in Kill Devil Hills just before 2:30 a.m.

After the fire was extinguished, three people were declared dead and three more people received medical treatment.

A nearby home received minor damage but no one in that home was hurt, according to WVEC.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kill Devil Hills Fire Marshal, Dare County Fire Marshal, and the SBI.
