House fire intentionally set in east Charlotte, officials say

CHARLOTTE — A house fire in east Charlotte was intentionally set over the weekend.

Officials with the Charlotte Fire Department said the fire started at a two-story home on Gold Worthy Court around 2:50 a.m. on Sunday. No one was in the home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The fire is still being investigated. There was an estimated loss of $30,000. It is unclear if anyone will face charges.
