CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets announced the signing Sunday of first-round draft pick Malik Monk.
Monk, a guard who played one year at Kentucky, was the 11th overall selection in last month’s NBA Draft.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Monk was named 2016-17 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year after averaging nearly 20 points per game.
He made 104 3-pointers and shot nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc.
