CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets announced Wednesday that head coach Steve Clifford will step from his role with the team for the immediate future to address his health.
Representatives for the Hornets said there is no timetable for Clifford’s return and that associate head coach Stephen Silas will serve as acting head coach in his absence.
Hornets representatives said they had no further comment out of respect for Clifford’s privacy.
