Honeywell invests in Discovery Place ‘Future Lab’ to encourage STEM education

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Honeywell International Inc.’s chief technology officer, Suresh Venkatarayalu, joined Discovery Place President and CEO Catherine Wilson Horne on Monday to open the “Explore More Future Lab” and introduce a first class of 23 sixth-graders to the new exhibit.

The Charlotte-based technology giant and the children’s museum partnered to develop the new lab dedicated to hands-on experiments to excite an interest in the physical sciences, engineering and technology.

“The Future Lab will allow kids like you to ask questions and search for answers,” Suresh told the students in a short speech at the ceremony to dedicate the lab. “You can do anything you set your mind to.”
