CHARLOTTE — Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating a deadly stabbing at an Uptown apartment complex Wednesday.
CMPD’s Maj. Gene Lim said officers responded to the call at the Flatiron Apartments along Sycamore Green Place just before 7 a.m.
When they arrived, they discovered a male victim who had been stabbed several times in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Throughout the morning, Channel 9’s Miana Massey say investigators knocking on doors and talking with neighbors as they worked to learn what happened.
For many who live in the area, the morning started with more questions than answers.
“I’m shocked right now,” Damita Davis, who lives in the neighborhood, said. “I didn’t expect this.”
Police have not released many details about the man who was killed or said what may have led up to the stabbing.
Channel 9 is asking if police have identified a suspect.
Detectives say the homicide investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
