CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested and charged two people, including a 17-year-old boy, Friday for a murder that happened Wednesday in north Charlotte.
Officers were called around 4 p.m. to an apartment complex on Nevin Road, just south of Gibbon Road. That’s where they found 22-year-old Andre Boyd in a common area of the complex. He had been shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Curtis Marvin Beatty and the teenager were charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Beatty was taken to jail and the teen to a juvenile facility.
“We’re talking about 70 homicides this year and really, we’re extremely frustrated, and we ask for the communities help in each and every one of these cases,” CMPD Major Allan Rutledge said.
Investigators have not released any other details about the crime.
