Police identify teen found shot to death in Hidden Valley neighborhood

CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating after a teenager was found shot to death Tuesday night outside a house in the Hidden Valley community.

The shooting happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Heatherbrook Avenue.

When officers got to the area, they found 17-year-old Qa’dir Alverest with a gunshot outside a home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting or no arrests have been made.

No further information has been released.
