SHELBY, N.C. — Officers arrested James Sanford Thursday for allegedly shooting and killing Tyrand Hopper on Saturday inside a home on West Circle Drive.

Officers were called to a home around 9 p.m. and found Hopper, 35, suffering from an upper body gunshot wound.

Hopper was rushed to Atrium Health Cleveland where he was pronounced dead.
Police spent the week searching for Sanford.
The two knew each other, police said.
