Homes evacuated after propane truck crashes in Stanly County

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — Hazmat crews were on the scene of an overturned propane truck early Friday morning in Stanly County.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. on Finch Road, just off Highway 52 near the railroad tracks.

One lane of Highway 52 was closed and at least two houses were evacuated as a precaution.

It was unclear if any propane leaked from the truck or if anyone was hurt in the crash.

People were allowed back into their homes shortly before noon.
