Narcotics officers found 200 grams of marijuana in the home of Ted Corriher, a Catawba County business owner.
Corriher is angry with the deputies, who he claims caused $40,000 of damage to his home during their search. He has chosen to move his business and 50 jobs out of the county.
“I’m just not giving Catawba County any of my tax money for them to do something like this to someone,” Corriher said.
According to deputies, they did not cause $40,000 in damages and only had to force the front door open because Corriher wouldn’t answer.
“You know he says he smokes weed. If he wants to smoke weed legally, he needs to move out to somewhere like Oregon where it is legal. In North Carolina, it’s not legal,” Catawba County Sherriff Coy Reid said.
