Holiday lights, snow tube slide coming to Ballantyne’s Backyard

CHARLOTTE — The Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular has transformed Ballantyne’s Backyard into a holiday wonderland.

The event, which is open daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Dec. 31, features an outdoor walking trail filled with more than 1 million illuminated lights, dozens of oversized snow globes, hundreds of decorated trees, a snow tube slide, and a Christmas village complete with boutiques, shops and a rotating roster of food trucks offering seasonal fare.

In addition to the festive installations, Santa will be there along with other live performers on select dates.

Ticket prices start at $15 per person for general admission Monday through Thursday and $20 Friday through Sunday.

A limited number of general admission tickets that can be used on any night will be available for $25.

VIP admission tickets cost $35 and include hot chocolate, candy canes, a souvenir swag bag, admission to the snow tube slide, expedited entry and access to the VIP restrooms.

Tickets for the grand opening lighting ceremony on Dec. 15 cost $20. Carolina Panther Bradley Bozeman and his wife, Nikki, will throw the switch for the “lighting of the first bulb.” The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Bradley & Nikki Bozeman Foundation with 65% of the night’s ticket proceeds going to the foundation.

General admission ticket holders can purchase snow tube slide tickets for $10.

Ages 2 and older require a ticket to the Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular.
