CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mecklenburg County court officials confirmed that a hit-and-run charge against the former CEO of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority was voluntarily dismissed.
The charges were dropped against Tim Newman because the person he allegedly hit did not show up for court.
That driver said she was satisfied that Newman paid restitution.
Last May, state troopers said Newman's blood alcohol level was .14 at the time of the crash, but the driving while impaired charge against Newman was also dropped.
