CHARLOTTE, N.C. — BEST Crowd Management is in the process of hiring 1,000 people for event security and guest services jobs at Bank of America Stadium for the upcoming NFL season and other events. Tepper Sports & Entertainment, owner of the stadium and the Carolina Panthers, hired BEST last year to replace longtime security provider Show Pros Entertainment Services.
Now the Panthers are handing off guest services to BEST Crowd Management for 2021 and beyond. Those jobs, previously handled in house, include ticket-scanning, bag checks and metal detection, and customer assistance.
Minneapolis-based BEST Crowd Management began seeking applications in recent weeks and hopes to be fully staffed by the end of July.
Jeff Spoerndle, BEST Crowd Management vice president, said the company hopes to build a base of 1,500 people by the start of the season in Charlotte, enough to maintain full staffing while allowing for absences due to family obligations and other scheduling conflicts. That number includes new hires and people who worked security for Panthers games last season.
Spoerndle added that many of the people hired for event security and guest services do so for supplemental income as second jobs.
“We really try to give our associates flexible employment,” he said.
