STATESVILLE, N.C. — A member of a motorcycle gang was killed when he crashed as officers were following him early Saturday morning.
Troopers said Cleveland County police and Rowan County officers were following Kenny Brown, 41, of Mocksville after they spotted him speeding in Rowan County. They said Brown was a member of the Outlaws motorcycle gang and was riding a Harley Davidson.
Troopers said Statesville authorities took over the situation when Brown reached Statesville. Authorities said they were not chasing Brown, but were keeping him in sight as he drove more than 100 mph through Statesville and into Troutman.
Brown wrecked his motorcycle and died at the scene.
