CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ram Realty Advisors is breaking ground this week on its latest South End project — a luxury high-rise apartment building.
Florida-based Ram, which has a local office and is an active developer in South End, will build a 13-story, 71-unit apartment tower with 6,200 square feet of ground-floor retail at the corner of Hawkins and Doggett streets. Ram rezoned that site about a year ago to allow a building up to 165 feet in height with residences and some retail space.

The portion of the site where Hawk (the project’s name) will rise measures less than 0.4 of an acre, resulting in a tall, dense structure with only six apartments per floor, says Ram.
A pedestrian bridge will connect the building to an adjacent parking deck, and the development will be built using precast concrete, a construction method that casts concrete in reusable molds that are cured off-site before pieces are shipped to the construction site and put into place.
Hawk is expected to deliver in the summer of 2020.
