HICKORY, N.C. — The Hickory Police Department is mourning the death of one of its K-9s.
Officials with the department posted on its Facebook page Tuesday morning that K-9 Rony died unexpectedly.

The department said K-9 Rony “was a great asset in many investigations and a true companion to his handler, MPO C. Berry. He will be greatly missed!”
Rony had been with the Hickory Police Department for the past five years.
