HICKORY, N.C. — The city of Hickory announced three discharges of untreated wastewater into nearby creeks on Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday, the city had an estimated discharge of 185,000 gallons at 2061 Snow Creek Road into Snow Creek.
Also on Sunday, the city had an estimated 78,000 gallons discharged into Falling Creek at 310 Cloninger Mill Road.
On Monday, an estimated 80,000 gallons were discharged at 12th Avenue SE into Clark Creek.

The city said the three discharges equal about 1 percent of the wastewater the city treats daily.
Additionally, Charlotte Water announced Monday it responded to an estimated 103,702 gallons of untreated wastewater that overflowed from a pump station near 6003 Stephens Road in Huntersville on Sunday.
The utility said the overflow was due to flooding and the untreated wastewater flowed into the Catawba River.
Charlotte Water officials said there is no impact on the area's drinking water as a result of the overflow.
