CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Chadwick Boseman, a South Carolina native, died Friday from a private, four-year battle with colon cancer.
He inspired generations of people through playing the Black Panther, Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall.

“I think he knew what he wanted to do even back when he played basketball. I don’t think he had aspirations of being in the NBA, but I knew he had aspirations of doing something great,” said retired coach Wayne Jones.
