Here’s where travelers are headed from Charlotte Douglas Airport

CHARLOTTE — As travel demand returns to Charlotte Douglas International Airport amid summer vacations and recovery from the pandemic, where are passengers headed?

Half of the 10 most popular flights at CLT in June are to destinations in the Southeast, relatively close to Charlotte, according to data from airline analytics firm OAG. Four of those routes are headed to cities in the Sunshine State.

In fact, the busiest route at Charlotte Douglas this month is to Florida’s Orlando International Airport, a gateway to multiple well-known attractions and theme parks such as Universal Studios Florida and Walt Disney World. That route has nearly 68,000 scheduled seats during the month, based on OAG’s data.
