CHARLOTTE — Severe Weather Center 9 is tracking a strong storm system expected to roll in Thursday morning. However, the severe threat is expected to stay to the east of the Charlotte area, Chief Meteorologist John Ahrens said Wednesday night in an update.

Most of the rain will happen during the morning commute.
There won’t be a lot of rain so the drive to work in the morning won’t be that bad, Ahrens said in his update.
After Thursday’s showers, expect a dry, warm weekend.
