CHARLOTTE — Today is Opening Day for the Charlotte Knights. Again.
Not for baseball season — that started March 30. This opening day is for Paper Mill Pub, a 150-person-capacity bar and restaurant carved out of a portion of the rightfield corner of Truist Field along South Mint Street. First pitch — make that pint — is at noon.
Yesterday afternoon, the Knights hosted a preview for 75 people, a combination of sponsors, reporters and assorted friends of the organization. The indoor-outdoor space includes a second-level porch looking out to Romare Bearden Park.
