MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Mecklenburg County Public Health held a back-to-school vaccination event Saturday morning.
The goal was to get kids vaccinated within the next 30 days as required by the school district.
The event was held at 9 a.m. at the Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center.

Health officials said nearly 500 are registered to receive immunizations. However, more than 500 were on the waitlist.
Families were able to walk in without scheduling an appointment.
