ROCK HILL, S.C. — Overnight construction on Interstate 77 near Rock Hill could create headaches for unexpecting drivers.
The new I-77 interchange near what was going to be the Panthers practice facility may end up being a road to nowhere, but work is going forward regardless.
Beginning Monday, each night from about 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., seven on ramps will close in 20 minute intervals for construction. Closed ramps include southbound exits 82, 83 and 85, and northbound exits 73, 75, 77 and 79.
Two right lanes on I-77 northbound and southbound will also be closed staring Monday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each evening.
Work is expected to be done Friday.
