Internet star Hayes Grier hurt in crash, brother Nash asks for prayers

Hayes Grier, Internet star and Davidson native, was involved in a crash on Thursday, his brother, Nash Grier tweeted.

"#PrayForHayes Just got a call on set that said Hayes was in a crash. He's now in the hospital," the tweet read.

Hayes appeared on “Dancing with the Stars” last year.

His brother tweeted an update a few minutes later.

“He can move & talk (thank God) but he's coughed up a lot of blood. That's all I know. Praying he has a quick recovery,” Nash Grier tweeted about his brother.

Hayes did not have any internal bleeding, his brother tweeted. He does have a concussion, fractured ribs and a bruised lung.

“Earlier today, Hayes Grier was involved in a dirt bike accident and immediately transported to a local hospital. Hayes suffered a concussion, broken rib, bruised lung, and multiple skin lacerations. Thankfully, he is OK and currently resting and recovering in the hospital surrounded by his family, where he will remain for the next few days. We can’t thank you all enough for the outpouring of prayers and support for Hayes,” Grier’s representative said in a statement.

Hayes, 16, has over 14 million followers across Facebook, Vine, Instagram, and Vine.
