CHARLOTTE — Harriet’s Hamburgers and new-to-market coffee concept Fly Kid Fly have snagged space at The Bowl at Ballantyne.
The chef-driven gourmet smash hamburger concept will open a standalone restaurant there in spring 2024. Plans call for a 1,600-square-foot, retro-modern jewel box building in the heart of The Bowl.
Northwood Retail is developing that mixed-use retail, dining and entertainment district.
Harriet’s opened its first location at Optimist Hall in Charlotte’s Optimist Park neighborhood in 2020. It makes burgers with patties of a premium, all-natural and hormone- and antibiotic-free Black Angus blend. Burgers are topped with house-made pickles, razor-ribboned red onions and a sweet and tangy signature sauce on a brioche bun. There’s an option to add white American cheese from a small-batch artisanal creamery.
Fly Kid Fly — a nod to the Wright Brothers — is a new coffee concept from Hex Coffee Roasters and Durban Hospitality.
