Hardware store to ask court to approve sale to Lowe's

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A California hardware store will ask a bankruptcy court Tuesday to approve it sale to Mooresville-based Lowe's.

Lowe's wants to buy dozens of Orchard Supply Hardware Stores for $205 million as part of the chain's plan to reach new customers on the West Coast.

The Wall Street Journal reports Orchard has to first get approval from a Delaware bankruptcy court.

Orchard would keep its brand under the deal.
