CHARLOTTE — A gun was found on a student at Renaissance West STEAM Academy on Tuesday, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
CMS said police were investigating after the gun was discovered at the school in west Charlotte that has kindergarten through eighth grade students.

There was no danger to students, according to the school district.
Channel 9 is asking CMS and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for more information. We are waiting to hear back.
