CHARLOTTE — Griffin Brothers Property Services has announced it will be taking over the development of affordable housing near South End in Charlotte.
The company said it assumed the land lease and the landlord responsibilities for Brookhill Village on March 1.
Griffin Brothers Property Services said it is excited to partner with Quore Real Estate Advisors to provide much-needed improvements for residents as they work to create sustainable affordability in the community.
In early March, Brookhill Land Lease Ventures announced it sold interest in the project after a yearslong funding battle for the property off Remount Road, near Interstate 77. The developers said they could not secure public and private funding for the vision, so they wrote an open letter to the community that announced a transfer of ownership.
Griffin Brothers Property Services said construction teams will begin demolition on twenty vacated buildings over the next couple of weeks. The company said it is continuing to work through several redevelopment concepts.
